Statement of Faith

The Bible

The entire Old and New Testaments, in their original writings, are inspired by God and without error. They are the complete revelation of God’s plan of salvation for humanity and the supreme authority for Christian faith and life.
The One True God

The one true God exists eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, three persons equal in essence, honor, and power. God is absolutely perfect and is the Creator of the universe, all things, and humanity.
Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ, the Son, is fully God and fully human. He came from heaven and was born of the virgin Mary, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit. He was crucified for our sins, died, was buried, and rose again on the third day. He then ascended to heaven and now sits at the right hand of God Most High as our High Priest and Intercessor.
The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit bears witness to and glorifies the Lord Jesus Christ, leading sinners to repentance, justification by faith, and new life. The Spirit dwells in believers, guiding, teaching, and empowering them to live holy lives and serve God.
Humanity’s Fall and Sin

Human beings were created in the image of God, but through sin and the fall became broken and lost. Our only hope is to be born anew through the Holy Spirit, receiving salvation unto eternal life and spiritual restoration.
Salvation

We are saved by grace through faith. The Lord Jesus Christ shed His blood and died for our sins, and rose again for us according to the Scriptures. All who believe in Him receive forgiveness of sins and a cleansed conscience, are born of the Holy Spirit, are reconciled to God, become His children, and are made new in Christ.
Baptism and the Lord’s Supper

Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are sacraments recognized by the universal church as observances to be kept in this age. They are visible testimonies that Christians bear before God and others.
The Church

The church is the body of Christ, made up of all people throughout history who are saved through faith in Jesus Christ, born anew by the Holy Spirit, and united to Christ as their Head. This universal church transcends geography, ethnicity, and gender. Local churches reflect the truth of the universal church. Recognizing differences in culture and tradition, we do not advocate organizational unification, but seek spiritual unity and follow Scripture in service, evangelism, membership qualifications, and other responsibilities.
Christ’s Return

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ will personally return. This is the living and blessed hope shared by all believers in the universal church throughout history, and it is central to each believer’s life and service.
Resurrection

We firmly believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead. Those who believe in the Lord will share eternal joy and blessedness with Him, while those who do not believe in Christ will be judged and enter eternal punishment.
Church Governance

All decisions of the local church are made according to the principles of Scripture, God’s Word, relying on the Holy Spirit and obeying Jesus Christ, our Head, in all things to glorify God. Our church is governed by a body of elders and deacons.
Christian Life

Christians are to pursue balanced growth in spiritual life, understanding, and service, becoming increasingly mature. This means submitting to God’s will and sovereignty, relying on the Holy Spirit’s leading and power, and living in a way that reflects the beauty of Christ’s character.
Christian Service

Christian life includes service. Relying on the grace and power given by the Holy Spirit, brothers and sisters seek unity in prayer, each fulfilling their calling, equipping the saints, and building up the body of Christ. In obedience to the Great Commission proclaimed by Christ our Lord, we share the gospel to the ends of the earth, seeking to rescue lost souls who have not yet believed in Him.
Marriage

Marriage is a sacred, lifelong covenant established by God between one man and one woman. Husband and wife are intimate companions, and their relationship represents Christ’s love for His church.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Kawagoe Taiwan Church, we will hold a Thanksgiving Worship Service, Gospel Meeting, and Japanese Gospel Worship Service. Everyone is warmly welcome.

Each Sunday, different brothers and sisters take turns leading a brief sharing and guiding everyone in united prayer.

Sunday Worship

We worship God together through hymns, praise, preaching, and offerings.
Services are mainly in Chinese, with Japanese interpretation arranged as needed.
Communion is held on the first Sunday of each month.
Baptism services are held twice a year.

Women’s Fellowship

Women deepen their fellowship through Bible reading, devotional books, sharing life experiences, and occasional activities.

English Bible Study

We study the Bible in simple English and share and learn together.

Fourth Sunday of each month, 1:30 PM

Youth Fellowship

Young people deepen their fellowship through Bible study, sharing life experiences, and occasional activities. We are currently studying the Book of Proverbs.

Choir Practice

All interested brothers and sisters are welcome to join us as we practice singing praises to the Lord.

Midweek Prayer Meeting

We regularly unite in prayer for the spread of the gospel through our church, the needs of our brothers and sisters, and changing situations around the world, interceding for one another.

The History of a Church
Continuing Its Journey in Kawagoe

Kawagoe Taiwan Church has continued its journey of worship and gospel ministry with the support of many people.

Church History

Kawagoe Taiwan Church began its journey on October 5, 1986, when regular Sunday worship services started at a believer’s home at 2:30 PM every Sunday. In 1987, a thanksgiving worship service for the church’s establishment was held, and in 1991, Pastor Chen Ming-Sing became the first pastor. In 1993, the church building was completed, and a dedication thanksgiving worship service was held with many guests from the United States, Canada, and Taiwan. In 1998, the church was officially recognized by Saitama Prefecture as the religious corporation 'Kawagoe Taiwan Church.'

Supported by many people, the church continued its journey and celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2006, 30th anniversary in 2016, and 35th anniversary in 2021 with thanksgiving worship services.In 2026, Pastor Vincent, Ching Tsung, Chen was installed as the church's fourth senior pastor. Currently, around 40 people gather for worship each week. We will continue to serve as a church rooted in the local community, sharing God's love with all.

1986

Regular worship began

On October 5, regular Sunday worship began at a believer's home at 2:30 PM.
1987

Thanksgiving worship for church establishment

On April 19, a Thanksgiving Service celebrating the establishment of the church was held, with 100 people in attendance.
1991

First pastor appointed

On March 7, Pastor Ming-Hsing Chen was elected as the first Senior Pastor of the church. He was officially installed on October 6 of the same year.
1993

Church building completed and dedicated

On August 22, 1993, the church building was completed, and a Dedication Thanksgiving Service was held with 250 participants from the United States, Canada, and Taiwan.
1998

Recognized as a religious corporation

On April 2, the church was officially recognized by Saitama Prefecture as the religious corporation Kawagoe Taiwan Church.

Pastor Vincent, Ching Tsung, Chen began serving in 2026 and is the church’s current pastor.

Pastor Vincent, Ching Tsung, Chen has served for many years in pastoral ministry and mission work across Taiwan, the United States, and Japan, and now serves as the senior pastor of Kawagoe Taiwan Church.
